Our History
USRI Lorry Body was founded in 1974 by Mr. Manamendra Patabedige Senevirathna. What began as an engineering workshop limited to domestic services expanded within a few years into advanced engineering work, constructing container bodies, vehicle modifications, and repairs.
In 1997, USRI was chosen by Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DME) to manufacture aluminium lorry bodies for TATA commercial vehicles, a partnership that continues to reflect USRI's reputation for precision aluminium fabrication at scale.
Today, USRI is a leading truck body manufacturer in Sri Lanka, delivering quality products that meet the exacting requirements of clients across many fields of trade and industry.
